Guidance and Counseling Center


The Guidance and Counseling office under the Division of Student affairs offers counseling services to the students to meet their social, personal, emotional, psychological and educational adjustments while in school. It also tackles orientation program for freshmen and transferee students, does student inventory records, and provides group counseling activities and help students in their club placement.


Psychological test are administered to assist the students on the appraisal of their personality.


The College Peer Counseling Group was organized to serve as extension arm of the professional counseling. They serve as helpers to students in giving them important information and instruction and at the same time build friendly relationship with them in the hope that they will find easy adjustments in their college life.


Medical and Dental Clinic


The Medical and Dental Clinic is maintained to promote the health and well-being of the College community. The clinic is manned by full-time and part-time physicians, dentist, and nurses.


Students can avail of free consultations, first aid, and initial dosage of medication for common ailment. They can also avail of the following services from the dentist: oral examination, temporary filling, prophylaxis, and other common dental treatments.


Office of the Students Affairs


The Office of Students Affairs provides an effective channel of communication between student body on the one hand and the administration, faculty and employees on the other hand. It is responsible for the general development of the student life in school as it endeavors to explain the policies, co-curricular and extra-curricular activities and to provide wholesome activities and services the whole year round. It is concerned with the student physical, emotional and spiritual welfare.


The Department coordinates the operation of units such as:


  • The Student Supreme Council
  • Federation of clubs and organizations
  • Students Publications
  • School health clinic

Sports Center


The college promotes the physical and skills development of the students through various sports activities designed to inculcate values of fair play, teamwork, and sportsmanship notably through the manual intramurals and participation in the various local and national competitions.


The big socio-cultural functions, student programs are held in the cultural gymnasium, which has a seating capacity of 6,000. PEHM students perform their physical education activities here.


The mini-gym is especially constructed for the holding of Criminology DEFTAC classes. Smaller programs of clubs and organizations may be conducted here during regular school days.


Various social and religious programs in the community are also held in the gymnasium.


The tennis court and volleyball court and open field accommodate the athletes for baseball and softball practice.


Spiritual Direction


UM Tagum College serves to build a strong adherence to faith among its students. Religious services like mass for Catholic and services for non-Catholics are held every first week of the month. There is a chapel for students to make daily visit meditation, and other spiritual renewal activities.


Student Publication


The COLLEGIUM is the official student’s publication of the college. Students can express their views and issues affecting them within the bounds of journalistic ethics.


Due to its unique nature, it has trained writers, journalists, and editors and has even paved the way for some to be presently involved in print media.


PX Canteen


Canteens are available at accessible places in the two campuses to provide affordable and fast food services to students and a comfortable venue where they can eat with ease and exchange pleasantries with their classmates and friends. Various meals are served at different times of the day catering to the needs of the students and employees.
