Policy on retention

The Open Admission Policy of the University is in consonance with its mission to democratize access to education primarily catering to the financially challenged students who are intellectually capable of acollege education.

       However, noting of the fast changing developments in the national and international arena as well as sustaining academic excellence, the University deems it proper to implement the Retention Policy to ensure that its graduates transform themselves to fit the needs of the community they opt to serve.

For Non-Board Courses – Student who obtained a failing mark in any of the academic subjects (to exclude P.E., ROTC, and NSTP) can take full semestral curriculum load, however, if he/she still obtains a failing mark the following semester, his/her next semester load shall only be limited to nt more that 21 units; two (2) failing marks in any of the academic subjects, shall only be allowed to a maximum load of 18 units; three (3) failing marks shall only be allowed to a maximum 15 units. failing marks in four (4) subjects shall only be allowed to a maximum load of 12 units; and failing marks in 60% or more of the subjects shall be advised to shift program.

For Board Courses Student who obtained grade below 3.0 in any board courses must have a passing mark in the Comprehensive Exam/Cumulative Test to get the equivalent of 3.0. However, if he/she failed in the CE/CT, he/she shall be advised to re-enroll the subject.

Post Graduate Programs

Students who obtained a grade of 2.0 in any subject shall be under probationary status. Obtaining again a GPA of 2.2 or below in the nest semester shall only allow him/her to a maximum of six (6) units the following semester.

Graduate Programs

Students who obtained a grade of 2.2 or below in any subject hall be under probationary status. Obtaining the same grade in the next semester shall only allow him/her a maximum of six (6) units the following semester.

Student who obtained a GPA of 2.2 or below shall be under probationary status. Obtaining again a GPA of 2.2 or below the next semester shall only allow him/her a maximum of six (6) units the following semester.

For Non-Board Programs- Student who obtained passing marks in all subjects cant take full semestral curriculum load; a failing mark in any of the academic subjects (to exclude P.E., ROTC, and NSTP) can take full semestral curriculum load, however, if he/she still obtains a failing mark the following semester, his/her next semester load shall only be limited to not more than 21 units;

two (2) failing marks in any of the academic subjects, shall only be allowed to take a maximum load of 18 units; three (3) failing marks shall only be allowed to enroll in 15 units subjects;

failing marks in four (4) subjects shall only be allowed to enroll in a maximum load of 12 units; and failing marks in 60% or more of the subjects taken shall be advised to shift program.
