OVERVIEW


The UM Tagum College Health Services is part of the Student Personnel Services. It is maintained to promote the health and well being of the University community.


The Health Services include free medical consultation, giving of first aid treatment to those students who suddenly get ill inside the school campus, simple dental extractions, and dental consultations and can avail medication intended only to lessen their illness/pain during their stay inside the school campus.


SPECIFIC OBJECTIVE


  • To perform medical & dental examination on students, faculty and staff of UMTC.
  • To appraise the health of the student population and the school premises, investigation of health hazards or potential hazards.
  • To provide emergency care to students, faculty and staff of UMTC during injury or illness.
  • Six (6) Plates Oven
  • To recommend purchases of medicines, medical/dental supplies needed in the clinic.
  • To render dental services, health education to the students of UMTC.

OPERATIONAL PROCESSES


  • For every transaction, students should present first their ID’s to the Clinic Staff.
  • Inform the Clinic Staff regarding the service that they want to avail.
  • For issuance of Medical Certificates for students going on field trips and other related out of school campus activities, a letter of request from the Program Head shall be sent to the School Nurse requesting for a schedule of Physical Examination stating the nature of activity, the date and the number of participants.

FACILITIES AND SERVICES


Dental Services:


- Performs dental examination /extraction.

- Examines and prescribes medicines during consultation/treatment to students of UMTC.

- Issues dental certificates when requested justifying the absence of students.


Medical Services:


  • Performs physical examination of students.
  • Refers students/employees to other health related agencies for further management of a particular illness, injuries sustained inside and outside school.
  • Issues/certifies medical certificates to students/employees justifying their absence or sick leave.
  • Examines and prescribes necessary medicines for students and employees.

UMTC HEALTH SERVICES POLICIES


The following must be observed by the students inside the school clinic:


- Presentation of ID’s to the Clinic Staff for every transaction.

- No by standers.

- No smoking inside the clinic.

- Observance of clinic and consultation hours.

- No loud conversation and boisterous laughter.

- Following scheduled Physical Examination.
